After graduating from Tsinghua University and achieving a Doctor degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr.Gu Chunguang (named as “Dr. Gu”) worked as a management adviser with McKinsey and Technical President of Jointown Pharmaceutical. He also won the award of China’s Top Ten Logistics Talents and the honor of “National Model Worker in Logistics Industry”. As the next course of his career, Dr. Gu Chunguang founded GALAXIS in 2014.

GALAXIS opened a R&D centre at home and abroad as well as developed a four-way multi-shuttle in 2014, which was put into market in 2015, bringing a new change to intelligent storage and retrieval. Currently, a four-way multi-shuttle can achieve a storage rate of 120 totes/hour. And the multi-shuttle combination can realize an overlay of processing capacity so that the efficiency of customers can be much better than before. It can save them a lot of investment in logistics equipment, fully reflecting the high flexibility, reliability, and cost performance of intelligent storage and retrieval, which chimes in with the customer demands.

Since its establishment, Dr. Gu has proposed the concept that “Scenario is king, technology oriented.” In just a few years, GALAXIS had grown rapidly from a scale of about 100 employees to more than 600 employees and implemented over 500 logistics projects at home and abroad, which were recognized by the industry. Today, it has established branches and factories in many regions like China, Europe, and Russia and has emerged as a provider of integrated solutions and one-stop services of logistics robot and automation with a “core equipment capacity.” “Our goal is to become a world-leading logistics technology enterprise,” says Dr. Gu.

GALAXIS is specialized in the field of warehouse logistics, which has independently developed logistics robot products such as multi-shuttle, lift, AGV, SRM, conveyor, and sorter systems, covering three major logistics scenarios modules, storage, and retrieval, transportation and sorting. In the field of logistics technology, the goal of GALAXIS is to satisfy customer demands and create values in different scenarios based on application. Taking the four-way multi-shuttle as an example, GALAXIS has been adhering to international standards.

“In the telescopic arm test, we’ve conducted more than 1 million tests. Through analysing components worn in the tests, we’ve optimized and adjusted the design,” mentions Dr. Gu. Further, GALAXIS has developed a complete range of capabilities from software, electric control, project integration, and after-sale service.

For AGV products, GALAXIS also considers the customer demands for application scenarios and delivery. The company has introduced comprehensive support technology, high-precision navigation, and modular design to ensure the handling safety of AGV and speed up the delivery, which has brought great convenience to deployment. Shuttle, SRM, and AGV have become a combination of classical application scenarios of GALAXIS for intelligent storage and retrieval and automatic handling, which are very popular among customers. As the application scenarios become increasingly complex, the ability to absorb new technology and apply in scenarios is also vital. GALAXIS has established an AI institute to study the application and innovation of AI technologies such as data mining, image processing, and intelligent optimization algorithm in the logistics industry. GALAXIS has also expanded the application scope, and collaboration scale of logistics equipment significantly improved the operational efficiency in order to offer customers solutions with high intelligence, flexibility, reliability, and cost performance.

For serving clients better, in the early stage, GALAXIS does sufficient preliminary research, makes consultation and planning with clients, designs the most suitable customized solutions, and strives to satisfy needs while building a more advanced concept of sustainable development. They then proceed to project implementation. This well exemplifies their urge to meet customer commitments. In terms of after-sales service, the company is building an after-sales service system to provide service and solve the problems that customers really care through the service network.

GALAXIS carries out the differentiated competitive strategy of “Based in China, global best”, providing products and services of high quality. “We have successively deployed R&D centers for equipment and software in Austria and China. At present, we have more than 150 patents and over 130 software copyrights,” mentions Dr. Gu. Adhering to the concept, GALAXIS continues to steadily invest in R&D, develop new products and technologies in the three logistics scenario modules of storage and retrieval, transportation, and sorting, and thus provides customers with end-to-end solutions with high flexibility, high reliability, and high-cost performance.
